The Siddīqiyya-Shādhiliyya Order

This is the official English language website for the Siddīqiyya-Shādhiliyya Order.

The Order was established on 10 JUMADA AL-AKHIRA 1439 AH (26 FEBRUARY 2018) by the current Shaykh of the Order, Dr. Ali Gomaa.

This page and all other English language assets of the Order are run under the direction of Dr. Tarek Elgawhary who is the Order’s Deputy for the US region.

Dr. Tarek Elgawhary is a Deputy (authorized spiritual guide) of the Siddīqiyya-Shādhiliyya Order for the US region.

What is an Ijaza?

In the Islamic sciences an ijaza is a license and it can be of many types. There are licenses to narrate, to teach, to issue fatwas, and, in this case, to guide others along the Sufi Path. The details of a particular license will often be found in the wording of the ijaza issued.
